Step 1: Create a journal to reflect in for progress.
Step 2: Develop a goal/skill.
List of design specifications:
- I want to make at least 4 candles
- I want 2 of the 4 to have different scents
- I want each one to look different from one another
- I want to make one of the scents apple because it is my favorite fruit and a very happy scent. i want it to be red to represent the traditional red apples.
- I want 2 of them to be in containers (whether it be in mason jars or actual candle containers)
- I want one of them to be a mix of 2 colors; purple and blue because they are my second favorite colors and since this project is supposed to be about me learning something, I'd like to have my favorite things
- .I want the other scent to be gingerbread because it will be a mold of a gingerbread man, i think the color will be beige or white depending on what i can find
Step 3: Feasible ideas for my goal that fits my specifications
Design 1: To mix up some of the candles ideas I can make it so that the 2 candles that have containers can become multicolored and have different scents, such as jasmine and apple. Also for the other two, it could be only one color to make them more simple, yet the decorations could be very nice.
Design 2: For another different idea, I could have the gingerbread candle come in different shapes and sizes, such as a gingerbread man, a candy cane or present shaped. I could also only do one candle that is not in a container to make the making process easier.
Design 3: I could also make one have 3 colors instead of 2, to make the colors more vibrant. To add decorations i could make them have sparkles on at least one of them. And the other have 2 colors. For the last 2 I can make them have 1 color and one could have a mold of an object.
Design 4: I could mix all of these designs and take the best of each and make a new design.

Step 4: Evaluate my goal
After evaluating my designs from the previous steps, I have decided that design 4 would be the best option because it shows the dedication I am putting towards this project.
I chose to take design 4 because I fell into all of my specifications and the designs that I created seemed very interesting to create and I am intrigued on how they will come out in the end.

Step 5: Detailed drawing and outline
Outline:
- Watch and research how to make candles and what materials are needed
- Buy all necessary ingredients and materials
- Prepare kitchen in order not to make a mess
- Melt wax
- Prepare wick
- Pour wax into containers bought.
- Make sure to use oven mitts when dealing with hot wax.
- Allow time to properly dry to not allow cracks to form.
- Carefully put in a cold environment to allow the wax to harden.
- After all is done; light candle.
- And enjoy
