Step 1: Continue to Write in Journal
Step 2: Create A Logical Plan
Step 3: Demonstrate Technical Skills
To ensure great results:
- Melt small amount of wax (1/2 a cup) at a time to make sure everything is evenly melted
- Stir every 1-2 minutes with a wooden spoon (that you don't mind it getting full of wax)
- use this online calculator to see how much wax is needed in your candle ---> http://www.candletech.com/candle-making/tips-and-tricks/handy-calculators/calculate-wax-weight-round-mold/
- Visit this page if your having trouble mixing colors ---> http://www.candletech.com/candle-making/tips-and-tricks/color-suggestions/
- Also don't use too much scent when it comes time to add scents, recommenced is about 5-10 drops depending on the size of the candle and how strong you want the scent. Adding too much scent makes the candles overbearingly strong, which people tend to shy away from when buying candles.
Step 4: Follow your plan
Candle in a mold.
Candle with three colors

Candle with two colors.
Candle with one color in a container.

Step 5: Justify any changes
I had to change some of my specifications because when it came time to buying all the necessary materials, the wax would have cost over $50 and the scents and coloring together $60.
As I didn't want to spend that much money on candle wax, I decided that I would instead use a cheaper form of wax; candles that i would just remelt.
Another decision i made was that I used only two scents other than 3 to decrease the cost.
Also I decided that I would reuse some containers from previous candles to make sure to recycle. I decided that to not have to buy a lot of candle wax, that I would instead melt pre-made candles and re-pour them in my own container.
Also for the decorations, I couldn't find all the necessary materials so I ended up having to rethink of my ideas and decided to mostly use glitter since it's cheaper.
